Our History
Registered in April 2025, FOLMADI grew from a simple conviction: that every person — starting with a child in Akabor — deserves a safe, healthy and fulfilling life, and the same chance to learn and succeed as anyone else.
We are a young, community-rooted organisation. We would rather show you a short record of real work than a long list of claims — so this page will grow as our work does.

Friends of like mind, one community
FOLMADI takes its name from Akabor community in Oguta Local Government Area, Imo State. It brings together people of like mind who share a commitment to Akabor and to rural communities like it — where the gap in access to education and healthcare is widest.

Registered as a Nigerian nonprofit
FOLMADI was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in April 2025 (CAC No. 8401313) and with SCUML for anti-money-laundering compliance (No. 171403020), with a field base in Akabor and an administrative liaison in Abuja, FCT.

WAEC registration outreach in Akabor
When 40 students at Ejemekwuru Akabor Secondary School were at risk of missing the 2026 WAEC examination because of financial hardship, FOLMADI worked with St. Anthony Catholic Church and the school administration to register every one of them — and donated chairs and desks to ease a classroom seating shortage on the same visit.

Girls' health education programme (planned)
Subject to funding, a six-month programme will give 500 girls aged 12–19 in Akabor and nearby communities age-appropriate health education, menstrual hygiene kits, trained peer educators and links to youth-friendly health services.
